Kersten Training Academy (KTA) is a part of CORFA that focuses on training in the oil & gas sector. KTA aims at supporting Suriname’s on- and offshore Oil and Gas Industry. KTA offers courses in Basic Emergency Response and various standards for technical roles such as:

  • BOSIET with CA-EBS: Basic Offshore Safety Induction and
    Emergency Training with Compressed Air Emergency
    Breathing System
  • FOET with CA-EBS: Further Offshore Emergency Training
    with Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System
  • T-BOSIET with CA-EBS: Tropical Basic Offshore Safety
    Induction and Emergency Training with Compressed Air
    Emergency Breathing System
  • T-FOET with CA-EBS: Tropical Further Offshore Emergency
    Training with Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System
  • HUET with CA-EBS: Helicopter Underwater Escape Training with
    Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System
  • Rigger Initial Training
  • Banksman and Slinger Initial Training

In addition, KTA is also able to provide industry related training
programs including:

  • Basic and advanced fire fighting
  • Working at heights
  • Confined space entrant
  • Various other online training modules

Kersten Environmental Services (KES) is a Joint Operation with Oilmop Environmental Services (Trinidad & Tobago). KES aims to be the leader in providing waste management and environmental services to the growing Suriname energy sector.

 

KES service portfolio will include a.o.:

  • Hazardous waste disposal
  • Transportation Services/ Transport of Waste
  • Tank Cleaning Services/ CCU Cleaning
  • Tank Rental and
  • Oil Spill Response Management

Kersten is 50% shareholder in Commewijne Port Facility N.V. This port facility in the Commewijne district is specifically developed to facilitate Suriname’s fast-growing offshore oil and gas sector. Comport is ideally located in the wide estuary of the Suriname and Commewijne Rivers, near the shipping channel of the Suriname River and the Atlantic coast. The site boasts over 850m of quay and ample surrounding land. Comport’s facility is designed to provide integrated logistics and operational support to International Oil Companies (IOCs) and their service providers, among others. The supply base will act as an essential link in the chain of offshore activities off the coast of Suriname and will contribute to strengthening the logistics infrastructure, stimulating local employment and economic growth. The first phase of this offshore supply base will be operational in the second quarter of2026.
