The company was established in 1956. However, it was not until 1970 that the company was acquired by Kersten from the Van Swaay brothers and was renamed Alginco (Algemene Installatie Maatschappij N.V.). Alginco has over 50 years of experience in both the corporate and residential market, offering

• (H)VAC and refrigeration;
• Electricals, namely low voltage installations;
• Installation and maintenance of generators;
• Water and gas installations.

Over the years Alginco has been engaged in large projects such as VSH, the Medical Scientific Institute, DSB Bank, Diakonessenhuis (hospital), Telesur (national telecommunications company of Suriname), the Academic Hospital, the Anton de Kom University and Bergendal Eco & Cultural River Resort.
In view of the ever increasing energy costs, Alginco strives to keep up with global technology in order to structurally realize the most updated and adequate solutions for its customers.
This includes Energy Star rated products.
Against this background, the company has made some major operational and commercial progress in 2009. Worth mentioning are the market-driven vision, reorganization and the strategic partnerships entered into with Lennox, Mitsubishi Electric, CPS, ALP, Galco, Taylor and various others.
