Paramaribo – Heavy equipment giant Surmac N.V. reserved an amount of SRD 67 million to invest in heavy equipment in the production sector. It is the first time a private enterprise, despite the risks, reserved a record amount for prefinancing. The hefty investment takes places on the occasion of the seventieth anniversary of the company that markets the Caterpillar brand.

Mosquito-borne diseases or mosquito-borne illness are disease caused by bacterial, viruses or parasites transmitted by mosquitoes. They can transmit disease without being affected themselves. Diseases transmitted by mosquitoes include: malaria, dengue, filariasis, West Nile virus, chikungunya, yellow fever, Japanese encephalitis, Saint Louis encephalitis, Western equine encephalitis, Eastern equine encephalitis,Venezuelan equine encephalitis, La Crosse encephalitis[1] and Zika fever. Nearly 700 million people get a mosquito borne illness each year resulting in greater than one million deaths.
