About "Building & Construction"
The Building & Construction division consists of Alginco, BEM, Spanbeton and Argos.
This division offers total solutions for the building and construction industry and is strongly committed towards HSEC standards throughout all their operations.
These four companies offer a wide range of materials and services, such as cement, concrete bricks, cooling, water and electrical installations. Our office located at the Hoogestraat, the Building and Advice centre, offers materials and advice to developers, designers, building professionals, contractors and do-it-yourselfers.
BEM, established in 1954, is the first and most experienced concrete company in Suriname, manufacturing and selling building materials and concrete products, offering various construction solutions in the area of building, road construction, land pavement, sewerage, infrastructure and raw materials.
The company was established in 1956. However, it was not until 1970 that the company was acquired by Kersten from the Van Swaay brothers and was renamed Alginco (Algemene Installatie Maatschappij N.V.).
Vensur was established in 1965 as a joint venture between Kersten and Venezolana de Cementos.
Vensur is the only producer of fresh cement in Suriname.
